Spread the word, join a team or help increase participation at the local level. Get involved as little or much as your time allows — there is place for everyone. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to highlight your skills and talents. Support and training is provided for all volunteer positions.

Volunteers Opportunities

Trained Facilitators:  Would you enjoy engaging community members in the IGT process through guided discussion?  If so, join our cadre of trained facilitators who run IGT’s small group workshops. 

Speakers BureauAre you passionate about IGT and enjoy public speaker?  Then consider joining our Speakers Bureau!  Our Speakers Bureau gives volunteers the opportunity to speak to philanthropic organizations, civic groups, local businesses and many other venues. 

Event Staff:  Do you enjoy meeting new people and interacting with the public?  Volunteer to staff the IGT table at local farmer’s markets and local events. 

Outreach:  Are you innovative and outgoing?  Do you want to help IGT reach a broader section of the community?  Outreach volunteers work together to strategize and implement programs with the goal of instilling deep community ownership of the process and Regional Vision.

Social Media Support:  Are you a Facebook and Twitter expert and interested community happenings related to the community values?  Do you love to Blog? Become part of our social media team and you will invest your volunteer time in keeping the community informed and engaged!

Writers:  If you enjoy writing and are looking for a creative outlet to share your knowledge related to the community values, become a blogger on the IGT Knowledge Exchange.  We also have opportunities who prefer grant writing or community visioning research. 

Admin:  Do you prefer to work behind the scenes?  Do you enjoy organizing?  Work with our small and friendly staff at the IGT office, completing tasks such as data entry, filing, material preparation and organizing. 

Working Groups:  If you have a level of expertise or background knowledge in planning or a related field and would like volunteer in a more in-depth manner, an IGT Working Group could be the perfect fit.  Current groups are focused on community indicator research and vision development. 

Training is provided for all volunteer positions and the schedule is flexible.  As an IGT volunteer, you can:  Make networking contacts, develop new skills, enhance your resume, gain work experience, meet new people and make a difference in the Tucson Region!
